How do I know which approach suits my needs?

Every individual arrives with a unique set of experiences, challenges, and goals. My approach to therapy is flexible and collaborative, guided by what works best for you. Whether you're drawn to a specific therapeutic modality or prefer a more eclectic, integrative style, we will work together to find a path that feels supportive and effective. I adapt methods based on your needs, preferences, personality, and the nature of the issues you're facing whether you're navigating life abroad, adjusting to a new culture, or managing long-standing emotional struggles.

What happens in the first session?

In the first session I will try get to know you and gather some history. The purpose of the first session is to discuss whether therapy is a good fit for you and to decide whether we can build a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I generally like to arrange an initial complimentary 15 minute online consultation which allows us to meet, discuss your needs and think together about how therapy might be able to assist you.

How long do the sessions last?

Individual Psychotherapy sessions and Couples Therapy sessions are both 50 minutes long and can be arranged weekly, bimonthly or once a month depending on your needs.

How many sessions do I need?

Therapy is a dynamic and evolving process, and it’s difficult to predict exactly how many sessions will be needed at the outset. The length of therapy depends on a range of factors, including the nature of your concerns, your goals, and how you experience the therapeutic process. I believe strongly in open communication and collaboration. You are always encouraged to share how the process feels for you including if and when you feel ready to end therapy. Together, we’ll regularly reflect on your progress and needs, which will help guide decisions about the duration and frequency of our work together.

How does payment work?

My current rate for therapy is €75 for individual therapy and €95 for couples therapy per session (50 minutes). I currently accept direct payment via bank transfer (EFT) or cash. At this time, I do not work directly with Dutch health insurance providers, but I’m happy to provide invoices should you wish to claim through private insurance or international cover. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about payment or need to discuss options.
